More Than a Shelter —
A Place to Truly Heal
Vatika Animal Sanctuary is home to over 450 resident animals — dogs, cats, cattle, horses, camels, and more. Every animal here was brought in through our rescue system and received the care needed to survive.
Our on-site veterinary team performs surgeries, wound dressings, physiotherapy, and specialist treatments in a makeshift but fully functional operating theatre. In 2024–25, we performed 164 surgeries and 218 life-saving procedures.
For animals that cannot be released or adopted — due to paralysis, chronic conditions, or age — the sanctuary is their permanent, lifelong home.

What Our Facility Offers
Built with limited resources, operated with boundless dedication.
On-Site Veterinary Care
Daily examinations, wound dressings, medication administration, and health monitoring for all 450+ residents.
Surgical Theatre
A makeshift but functional OT where our vets perform fracture repairs, tumour removals, spays, neuters, and emergency surgeries.
Rehabilitation
Physiotherapy, mobility aids (wheelchairs, prosthetics), and long-term recovery programmes for paralysed and special-needs animals.
Permanent Sanctuary
Lifelong homes for animals that cannot be adopted — elderly, blind, paralysed, or critically ill animals live out their lives safely here.
Species Diversity
We care for dogs, cats, cows, bulls, horses, camels, and birds. Chhattisgarh's only multi-species large-animal sanctuary.
Outpatient Treatment
Beyond our residents, we provide treatment to animals brought in by the public — wounds dressed, medicines dispensed, advice given.
450+ Animals,
Every Story Unique
Street Dogs
Road accident victims, mange cases, paralysed dogs on wheels — each with a journey from crisis to comfort.
Cattle & Bulls
Working animals injured by overuse, road accidents, or abandonment. We are the only sanctuary in CG with large cattle capacity.
Camels & Horses
Rescued from abuse and neglect — rehabilitated and given permanent sanctuary when re-homing is not possible.
Cats & Birds
Injured strays and fallen birds — treated and released or kept if unable to survive independently.
